Acceptable Use
What we ask for in exchange for being free.
The scanner is free and account-less because we trust it'll be used for what it's for: verifying products. Here's what we don't tolerate.

Not allowed
By using beoriginal.id or its API you agree NOT to:
- attempt to guess, enumerate, generate or predict label codes,
- attack, overload (rate-limit abuse, DDoS) or interfere with the service,
- run mass or automated scraping of the site or the link checker,
- reuse, clone, manufacture or tamper with real or fake BeOriginal labels,
- reverse-engineer the correlation mechanism between the two QR codes,
- use the platform to commit, facilitate or conceal fraud.
This doesn't apply to good-faith security research — that's covered separately by our Vulnerability Disclosure Policy, under different rules.
Brand accounts
A brand's staff is responsible for their credentials and how they use the panel. Sharing accounts between unidentified people breaks the audit trail — don't do it.
If we detect abuse
We may limit, suspend or block access without prior notice if we detect a pattern of abuse, and — if warranted — report it to the relevant authorities.
Changes
If this policy changes, we publish it here before it takes effect.
